Over 60’s Yoga with Zowie

Mondays 11.00am – 12.30pm

£8 concessions available

This is a popular friendly class for older people, focusing on maintaining mobility, as well as breathing and relaxation.

Rather than trying to “do Yoga postures” we work to support maintaining a wide range of movements essential to everyday functioning through the sequences and postures.

Consideration and time is given to modifications for age related complaints such as arthritus, but if getting up and down from the floor is not suitable please see the chair yoga class page.

Suitable for both those with experience of yoga and those who are new to it.

Chair Yoga

Chair based yoga provides a class for people with balance and mobility issues, pain, injury or health problems that make yoga on the floor difficult.

A variety of both sitting and standing postures can be done with the aid of a chair to make the benefits of a Yoga accessible to those who might otherwise feel it would not be possible for them.

Whether as an introduction to Yoga as part of a progression path,  a way to continue practicing as mobility lessens, or a temporary adaption at times of injury recovery chair supported practice can increase strength and flexibility in a comfortable safe way.

Hatha Yoga

Let go and unwind in these gentle, evening drop-in sessions that focus on releasing tension and reconnecting mind and body.

Moving with the breath, we work through a series of lying, sitting and standing poses to restore energy and enhance flexibility and strength. Classes end with a lovely relaxation to leave you feeling rebalanced and revitalised.

Suitable for both beginners and those with some experience of yoga already.

Mondays: 6-7.15pm

A slow meditative flow to wake up your body, calm the mind and set the tone for your week.
