  • Train to become a professional Shiatsu Practitioner
  • Part-time, weekend study for 3 years
  • Creative and flexible approach to assignments
  • After three years you will graduate with our Level 4 Diploma in Shiatsu and become a professional practitioner registered with the Shiatsu Society UK
  • Direct Entry into Year 2 is possible via Accredited Prior Learning (APL)

You will receive an in-depth training in Zen Shiatsu, supported by its underlying foundations in Chinese Medicine – including the location and use of Acupressure Points. The training includes an online Holistic Anatomy course plus study of the physiology and pathology of the body/mind, from both Eastern and Western perspectives. These studies will be informed by recent developments in understanding, for example of the liquid crystal structure of connective tissue and its relevance to healing touch. You will be learning in a highly supportive environment with experienced teachers plus applying what you learn to support others in their healing. Study in the final year includes creating case studies, attending clinics and tutorials to prepare you for setting up your own Shiatsu practice.

Grassroots Shiatsu

 Saturdays 10am – 12pm monthly

Grassroots Shiatsu is a way of learning Shiatsu basics without signing up for an extensive practitioners course.  The first hour is a Qigong class

Then you will learn how to give Shiatsu for friends and family. Through Qigong, Yoga, self – shiatsu and meditation and giving and receiving Shiatsu, we explore the basics of the ideas and philosophy that are the foundations of Shiatsu.

Saturday morning session from 10am to 12pm.

Dates: 18th October, 15th November, 6th December, 10th January, 14th February, 14th March, 11th April, 16th May, 11th July

OR Drop into the whole day or weekend; get a deeper taste of learning Shiatsu, developing healing touch for friends and family

During this 3-hour workshop we will be focussing on the principles of practice during the first half, including alignment, movement, breathing and mental awareness, through standing and seated postures. This will last about 1h 20.

After a break, in the second half we will be practicing one of the Hui Chun Qi Gong sets, a balancing seated practice related to the Five Elements of the Daoist tradition.Everyone is welcome, beginners to experienced practitioners, no limits of flexibility, age or prior knowledge.
