Qigong with Andrea

July 17, 2024

Thursdays 7.30pm – 8.30pm

Qi Gong is a system of body and mind cultivation developed in China, with roots going back thousands of years. It uses accessible sequences of simple movements to explore and refine principles of posture, movement, breathing and awareness. As a regular practice it helps improve health, fitness and inner balance.

These classes focus on the foundations of practice, including ground rules of structure and movement, breathing and body-mind relationship. We work with various sequences of short exercises through which these principles can be applied and practised, including Ji Ben Qi Gong (Qi Gong Foundations), Wu Xing Qi Gong (Five Elements Qi Gong), Wu Dao Yins (Clearing Exercises), Dan Tian Gong (energy building) and others.

Accessible to all, the classes do not require any particular level of strength, flexibility or prior knowledge. Feel free to drop-in, or get in touch for more details.

Andrea is a dedicated practitioner of Qi Gong, Tai Ji and Daoist Meditation, with over 30 years’ experience in bodymind practices. He is an affiliated Lotus Nei Gong instructor and continues developing his practice with internationally established teacher Damo Mitchell. Andrea is also a teacher of the Alexander Technique and a Shiatsu practitioner.

£8 per class (or £30 for 5 classes). Concessions available – please get in touch.

Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic class with the intention to work and challenge your body, to develop good balance and quiet the mind. Using breath and gravity to guide you, each class takes a different, creative approach with varying poses, allowing you to unwind and reset, before a well-earned final relaxation at the end.

More suitable for those with some yoga experience.

James has practised yoga for over 25 years now, ranging from Ashtanga to Jivamukti and a more recent Scaravelli-inspired approach. He completed his 300-hour British Wheel of Yoga accredited Yoga teaching training here in St Leonards Studio under Annie Cryar. He incorporates these years of knowledge into a more-challenging (in parts) Vinyasa class with modifications for all levels to make it accessible, safe and non-competitive.

Please bring a mat and blocks/any props you require. Although there is always a spare mat on hand if needed.

Classes are £10 drop in (concessions available so please contact for this)
