‘Root & Release’

A Sivananda-inspired class weaving together breath, movement and energy. Through a gentle mix of standing and mat-based practices, you’ll be invited to explore movement at your own pace, with modifications offered to suit all levels.

The focus is on softening and releasing the body through the breath, allowing areas of tension and tightness to gradually melt away. You’ll be encouraged to listen to your own body, notice its subtle messages and explore each movement with curiosity and awareness.

There is no need to force or achieve — simply an invitation to breathe, move and journey inward.

Leave the class feeling calmer, lighter and more connected, carrying a sense of stillness with you as you continue into the rest of your day.

Hi, I’m Romani JO.

I’ve been actively involved in fitness and movement from a young age, exploring everything from gymnastics, dance, netball, tennis, badminton and swimming to cycling, running and weight training.

Over 30 years ago, I discovered yoga, training in Kerala India – Sivananda Centre and it has remained the foundation of my training ever since. Through periods of focusing heavily on one sport or another, I began to notice how the body changes and adapts to specific forms of movement, while other areas can become neglected or stagnant.

I also became aware of the emotional side of exercise. While many forms of sport and training can offer a powerful emotional release or quick fix, I sometimes found myself feeling low afterwards and looking for that feeling again.

Yoga introduced me to my body in a much deeper way — both physically and emotionally. It taught me to listen, to notice, to understand and, most importantly, to connect the two.

My journey has centred around health, wellbeing, personal development and resilience. I have trained in homeopathy, Thai massage and personal training, continually practising, learning, developing, growing and adapting along the way.

I also set myself personal challenges and goals to test both my mind and body, pushing beyond my comfort zone and discovering what I am truly capable of.

For me, growth is an ongoing journey. I believe in staying curious, embracing challenges, learning from experience and continually striving to become stronger, more resilient and better equipped for whatever comes next.

Over time, I began to discover that the tools I developed through my yoga practice extended far beyond the mat. Breath, awareness, movement and stillness became ways of navigating everyday life and meeting challenges with greater understanding and resilience.

Today, I bring together my many years of movement experience with the deeper awareness yoga has given me, creating practices that invite you to explore your own body, listen to its messages and find a greater sense of balance — both on and off the mat.
